Registry Editing tweaks ~

Open registry editor .. start->run->type”regedit”->press enter

1.    Create a hidden user account with regedit:
This trick allows an account that is normally displayed on screen to be hidden from view. Too use the account it’s necessary to use Log On To Window dilogue box similar to one in windows 2000  i.e. press CTRL+ALT+DEL twice.

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SOFTWARE/Microsoft/WindowsNT/Current Version/Winlogon/SpecialAccount/UserList
Modify/Create DWORD(right click on space and select        new->DWORD) Value of data type REG_DWORD Named [name of acc. To be hidden]Setting For value data [0=Account Is Hidden/1= Enabled]
Exit registry/Reboot
While acc. Is hidden on welcome screen, acc. Will be visible in C:\Documents and Settings.

2.    Create a right click command prompt option:
Regedit version 5.0
[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT/Folder/Shell/Cmd Here]
@ = “Command &Prompt Here”
[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT/Folder/Shell/Cmd Here/command]
@ = “cmd.exe/k pushd%L”

Save the file with extension .reg. double click the file and choose Yes to merge the file information into registry.[Reboot]



3.    Disable Tips: Disable the baloon tips in windows XP do this trick:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER/Software/Microsoft/Window/CurentVersion/Explorer/Advanced

Create a new DWORD value, Name it EnableBaloonTips, and set it equal to 0. If DWORD EnableBaloonTips is already there with value 1, then convert 1 to 0. Exit registry, reboot.
