Test your Antivirus

“Test your Antivirus”

Hello Friends, Today I have come up with new Topic- “Test your Antivirus”

Do you have Antivirus software in your computer???
If yes, then this article is especially for you. If you are in doubt that whether my Antivirus is working or not?  Then I am here to help you guys.
Here I am going to demonstrate a method to test your Antivirus.
To verify that your antivirus is working fine we may use a method called EICAR testing. The Eicar is a file which
developed by the European Institute for Computer Antivirus Research, to test the response of computer antivirus
software to a virus. Actually Eicar file is not a virus but all antivirus treat Eicar file as virus file.
So we can use Eicar to test antivirus responsiveness. To check antivirus with Eicar method first we need to create an Eicar file,

>Create a text file and copy this line inside it.

X5O!P%@AP[4\PZX54(P^)7CC)7}$EICAR-STANDARD-ANTIVIRUS-TEST-FILE!$H+H*

>Now this file as “eicar.com”
In notepad save as >>Save as type: All files>>Filename: eicar.com>>Save

After saving if you see a virus warning that eicar.exe is infected as EICAR TEST FILE then you can be sure that
your antivirus is working fine else click that file Eicar.exe if you don't see a virus warning then you can be
100% sure your Antivirus is Disabled or Damaged. Replace your Antivirus immediately because you have no
virus protection currently.
If it doesn't raise an alert, try to open that Eicar.exe file. To see what happens if you try to run a file containing a
virus, double click eicar.com to open it.
Note: The file eicar.com you have created is completely safe. It is not a virus.

Any Query?
